John Batchelor and I welcomed back Dr. Mike Wall to discuss the latest delays of seven months for the JWST. This delay was reported to be about the impact of Covid-19 plus getting the advanced instrumentation and mirror right because the telescope will orbit so far away from Earth that repairs will be impossible, at least that is what is claimed today.  Mike talked about the continued delays and the huge cost overruns over the years since the project began in 1996.  The impact of JWST eating so much of the NASA budget was pointed out given what it does to other NASA projects.  We also talked about possible launch delays given the virus and technology delays.  Regarding launch delays, Mike did not seem to thing that would be a big issue. The was a one segment just under ten minute Hotel Mars discussion.
