John Batchelor and I welcomed back William (Bill) Harwood, CBS Space News Reporter, to update us on the Orion Multipurpose Space Capsule now in the finishing stages at the Cape. We talked about using Orion to go to the Moon, the need for a lander, docking and orbiting the Moon via the Gateway, going on to Mars, adding a crew hab for Martian flights, dependency on SLS and possible further delays in the project. We talked about the Orion parachutes and water landing, crew capacity and the BLEO Orion mission which is still being defined. Bill mentioned both the EM1 and EM2 upcoming test flights plus the international character of the project, especially with ESA and the service module.
