John Batchelor and I welcomed back Bill Harwood of CBS News to first talk about the upcoming launch of the JWST on Dec. 18. Bill provided us with a mission readiness report. I also asked that once Starship was operational, would there be a possibility of a robotic repair mission. He said no but he did say NASA left open the possibility of a refueling mission over time. Don't miss this. After JWST, we talked about the LUCY mission to Jupiter's Trojan Asteroids in the same orbit as the planet. We also discussed the deployment issue with one of the solar panels needed for the mission. Our final topic was the recent Russian ASAT test that created a very large debris field and has caused maneuvering issues for the ISS and as Bill said, probably for years to come.
