John Batchelor and I welcomed back William (Bill) Harwood, CBS Space News Reporter, to discuss the recent SpaceX  Demo 1 Crew Dragon test flight paving the way for the return of US human spaceflight.  We discussed the launch on a Falcon 9, the successful return of the first stage to the barge, details about the Dragon crew vehicle, docking with the ISS, crew size of Dragon compared to the ISS crew size, the return of the Dragon for an Atlantic Ocean splash down rather than landing on land and much more.  Bill discussed the dummy astronaut Ripley in the cabin to test many of the flight forces, characteristics and loads that crew members will experience when humans start flying on the Dragon.  We also talked about the famous pad 39A which SpaceX has remodeled and used plus the soft capture docking procedure used to dock Dragon with the ISS.  Also the open nosecone.  Other details of both the test flight and future flights were discussed along with a possible timeline for the first human flight onboard the Dragon.
