In 1993, Michael Wallis co-founded the Experimental Rocket Propulsion Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit liquid fuel rocket engine design and test team. He has served, at various times, as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Director, and as Chairman of the Board. He is currently the President and a Director of the Society. Previously, Michael had organized and run twenty-five science fiction conventions from the mid-1970’s through the mid-1990’s and has worked as staff or helper at over a hundred more. By the mid-1990’s, though, he had found building rockets more fun than reading about them. He was an early member of the Space Access Society and regularly attended and presented at the conference in the 1990’s and 2000’s. He lives and works in Sunnyvale, CA.
