Dr. Shuai Li

Dr. Shuai Li is a planetary geologist and spectroscopist. He was born in China. Dr. Li came to US 11 years ago. He got his master degree from the Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis in 2011. He got his PhD degree from Brown University in 2016. Dr. Li spent most of his time working on the distribution, variation, and origins of water on the Moon in graduate school. After that, he worked at the University of Hawaii as a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Paul Lucey’s group for 2 years. Dr. Li became a faculty member of Hawaii Institute of Geophysics and Planetology (HIGP) at the university of Hawaii earlier this year. Major outcomes of his recent work include the discovery of surface exposed water ice in the lunar permanently shaded regions and the widespread hematite at high latitudes of the Moon.
