Dr. Nicola Sarzi-Amade

Dr. Sarzi-Amade is Vice President of Business Development of Scorpius Space Launch Company, where he is responsible for finding new applications for the Scorpius launch vehicles and the all-composite cryogenic tanks. He is also a systems engineer in the Space Systems Division of Microcosm, Inc. where he provides technical expertise in areas like mission engineering and spacecraft design. Dr. Sarzi-Amade designed a Mars rapid round trip mission and developed new mission architecture concepts for human Mars missions. Dr. Sarzi-Amade is a member of the Space Systems Technical Committee of the AIAA, and is the Chairman Elect and Membership Co-Chair for the AIAA Los Angeles – Las Vegas Section. He is also the Director of Chapter Development and on the Board of Directors/Executive Committee of the Space Tourism Society. He is also a certified private pilot. Dr. Sarzi-Amade is one of the authors of the book Space Mission Engineering: The New SMAD, and co-author of several technical publications in astronautics and systems engineering. Dr. Sarzi-Amade has a Ph.D. in Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and M.S. degrees from Politecnico di Milano and the University of California, Irvine
