Mike Weil is a professor in the Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University. He trained in Microbiology at Louisiana State University and the University of Texas, then post-doc’ed in Cancer Genetics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Afterwards, he joined what was then the Department of Experimental Radiotherapy at M.D. Anderson before moving on to CSU.
Mike’s expertise is in radiation carcinogenesis and his research focus is on individual susceptibility. He is an elected member of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement. He has been doing research on space radiation effects since 2003 and serves as the Director of the NASA Specialized Center of Research on Carcinogenesis.
