John Batchelor and I welcomed Dr. Marc Rayman of JPL to talk about the Dawn Mission and updates with Ceres. Dr. Rayman updated us with new Ceres findings including the changes in the dwarf planet over the last few months with the expansion of water ice in a specific crater. We talked about Ceres internal heat and cosmic history, surface carbonates, Dawn going down to 22 miles above the surface and much more. Dawn will run out of hydrazine and end its life the in the fall 2018 but will be in a stable orbit for centuries.
