During our 11 minute plus discussion with Dr. Farrand, we celebrated ten years of the Mars rover Opportunity exploring and doing science on the Red Planet. Opportunity has outlived its fellow rover, Spirit, has traveled about 22 miles and been engaged in some amazing discoveries and research. Our guest talked about the instruments that are still working, those that have quit, what it is finding and how it can compliment Curiosity. We also talked about the demise of Spirit and how that happened. Please post any comments/questions you might have on The Space Show blog. You can contact any of us through drspace@thespaceshow.com.
