John Batchelor and I welcomed Dr. Dan Durda of the Southwest Research Institute Boulder Office to discuss the suborbital industry from both a research perspective and space tourist point of view.  Dr. Durda talked about the major entries in the industry, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, and the former XCOR.  He talked about experimenters wanting to fly their own experiments and the likelihood that tourist flights will be separate from research flights.  Dan was asked about research flight costs and frequencies and when revenue flights might start for Virgin.  There are already research flights on Masten and Blue.  Near the end of the second segment of this double segment discussion, John asked Dr. Durda to describe what the flight might be like.  Don't miss how he described it.
