We welcomed back to the show Dr. Bruce Cordell for this two segment nearly two program in which Bruce told us that the Maslow Window was in play indicating a strong possibility for a big, international space project to commence in the near term.  Bruce spent much of the first segment going over his Maslow Window theory, then explaining why he though the Window was now in play.  He cited the historical examples for the windows to open up about twice a century.  He said Apollo was such a window but so was the development of the ISS but it was not as strong as Apollo.  He talked about the US current changes in our economy which are more promising for big projects to be undertaken.  He also spoke at length about the general public confidence in the economy and the feelings of ebullience which he said was strongly trending upwards at this time.  Other examples he used including the crisis with N. Korea given that these big projects historically appear at times of international geopolitical instability.  The Cuban Missile Crisis and JFK were examples he used regarding the window period for Apollo.

In the second segment, Bruce talked about having another Sputnik Moment.  He said Sputnik was a trigger event for the 1960's and Apollo.  He wondered what such a trigger event would be at this time.  Among the suggested ideas included a NASA or otherwise confirming proof of alien life announcement.  Also, he thought the discovery and development of lunar ice had all the earmarking of a trigger for the Maslow Window of today.  Another possible trigger was China which explained to us.  As for N. Korea being the Cuban Missile Crisis example of geopolitical instability for today, he said that North Korea was the Cuban Missile Crisis in slow motion.  Make sure you hear his explanation for this term.

Several listeners sent in emails as there were no phone calls for Bruce.  Betty wanted to know about the vulnerability of a Maslow Window to a change in our administrations at the next election.  Ben from Los Angeles asked if the big project had to be space related or for example, could it be the development of a national hyperloop project.  Don't miss what Bruce said in response to this question.  As we neared the end of our discussion with Bruce, Joshua asked for a 2018 list of events to watch out for as triggers or further evidence of the development of Bruce's Maslow Window Theory for a large space project to be confirmed and started.  Bruce offered some predictions with some backup, mostly based on economic conditions, performance, and the thought of a positive business tax policy.  Before we ended the program, I kidded Bruce that waiting for his Maslow Window for space to open up given he has been a guest on the show for several years was like being involved in permanent state of pregnancy waiting for delivery of the baby.  For sure you do not want to miss what Bruce said in response to this comment.
