Guest: Ross Tierney was the guest for this in-person taped interview conducted here in Cocoa Beach on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008. This was a very hard-hitting interview with Ross about Direct 2, its technology, its likelihood of being adopted by NASA as an alternative to Ares 1, and more. I asked Ross why we should have confidence in Direct 2 when it was basically a PowerPoint presentation given that it has not yet undergone any metal bending, any development or testing. I asked why there would not be design problems with it as there are with Ares and the NASA selected hardware.

Broadcast 546 (Special Edition)

Howard Bloom was the guest for this special program to discuss the importance of having a space vision, the idea of a "killer application" for inspiring the public regarding space, and a four point program that could form the basis for the needed space vision. The four point program he discussed includes biofuels, space solar power, lunar development, and going to Mars. We talked about economics and several listeners asked questions about the economics and the priority of SSP or the other components of the program before having developed affordable and routine LEO access.

Broadcast 282 (Special Edition)

Brad Blair was the guest on The Space Show today, discussing lunar development, hydrogen, HE3 issues, ISRU and more. I pointed out to Mr. Blair some of the controversy surrounding hydrogen and HE3 and asked for his take on the varying points of view. Early in the show, Mr. Blair, when talking about living off the resources of space, specifically the Moon, the issue of animals for feed and pets came up. Mr. Blair's comments on this topic were most interesting.
