Hugh Blair-Smith

Born, raised, and educated in the Washington-Boston corridor, he parlayed luck and good timing into starting work on Apollo several months before it began. Married and with two kids, he stayed in rocket science through the engineering for the Space Shuttle, still at MIT’s Draper Laboratory. After a second career half in commercial computer and software development, in retirement he gives papers at technical conferences, teaches safe boating, writes, and generally enjoys doing too much.
