John Carter McKnight, our reporter from Mojave, is a frequent Space Show Guest. John Carter McKnight is also a freelance writer and business development consultant. He has been the author of a biweekly online column, “The Spacefaring Web,” (available by email and carried at http://www.SpaceDaily.com) which addresses economic, political and technological aspects of space development. Mr. McKnight has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Space Frontier Foundation, a nonprofit organization advocating the development of a spacefaring civilization through private enterprise, and its Mars Project Director. From 1999 through 2000, he was CEO of Transplanetary Corporation, an engineering design firm specializing in life support technologies for extreme environments. He was The Mars Society’s first Executive Director, serving from 1998 to 1999. For over ten years, he practiced corporate finance law in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Mr. McKnight may have discovered a new career, that of roving space news reporter!
